Hair clip combined with a brooch made of chirimen fabric - synthetic silk. The ornament depicts small apple blossoms in three colours.
Apple trees gained symbolic significance in the Middle Ages, although they only ever grew wildly. Because of the hardness of the wood, it was used to carve tools and small objects like toys, checkers, cutlery. Bark was also used to dye Easter eggs in a light yellow colour. The apple blossoms, which were considered to be the flowers of a bride, brought delight. There were flowers of spring and the beginning of love.
The clip has a silk-covered button with a diameter of 28mm. 2-way clip fastener.
~About my kanzashi~
Each kanzashi is made out of hand-folded petals, which are made from individual squares of high-quality fabrics. As with all items you see online, please be aware that due to your monitor settings colours may be displayed slightly differently and the difference is not a basis for complaint or exchange.
Kanzashi should be kept it out of sunlight and dust, preferably in a jewellery box (if you own more than one kanzashi it's good to add a lavender sachet to the box). I do my best to make Wisteria Garden's kanzashi durable, but as with any delicate material, care should be taken when handling and storing your piece.
